This interview with Sukhwinder Maheshwari was published on 16 June 2022. Who have traveled 361 km of Sutlej river. He said that people who are concerned about the society do such trips. Journalist asked Sukhvinder Maheshwari how he got the idea of such a journey and Sukhvinder said that four years ago he had done a project to collect rainwater at home because he had always been serious about the issue of water. And that’s why they wanted to know more about the river. He said that even Guru Nanak has given the highest status to water in Gurbani. Sukhwinder said that river water is often described as dirty by people and through the internet, whereas the water is never dirty, but it contains chemicals from factories that are thrown into it, which pollutes the water source. He said that politicians often use the issue of water during elections to attract people’s attention and later never work on the issue of water. He said that by collecting and storing rainwater, future water crisis can be avoided. Apart from this, Sukhwinder also shared historical facts about Sutlej. Talking about the issue of SYL, he said that the river management is not being done properly by the government and if the government does the management properly, the income of Punjab can be increased by planting around 27 lakh trees and making picnic spots.
