This interview with RTI activist Manik Goyal was published on 25 December 2022. In this interview, he was discussed about the sit-in against the Zeera Liquor Factory. He said that if the government wanted, it could have resolved this issue long ago, but the government did not pay any attention to it. Where on one hand the factory owners are claiming that there is 0 discharge system in the factory. The villagers there are telling that the discharge is being sent to the ground water by reverse boring. He said that when Deep Malhotra went to court after the factory was closed, the government had given Rs 5 crore as compensation for the loss of his factory in October. Then in November another Rs 15 crore was given that too without making any challenge. In this interview, Manik Goyal explained what business Deep Malhotra had in Delhi and how that business came to Punjab. Talking about the land attachment issue, Manik Goyal said that the Aam Aadmi Party is in favor of the factory owner. He said that due to the laudable efforts of advocate RS Bains, the lands were not attached. Apart from this, Manik Goyal explained how media management is being done by the government in Punjab. Talking about the Punjab School Education Board and Mining, Manik Goyal said that the performance of Harjot Bains is zero. He also talked in detail about the poor management of the Jail Department. He also said that the Bhagwant Mann government does not respond to any RTI and with 15 to 20 RTI’s the scam of the government was exposed. Finally, he said that the state of law and order in Punjab is very bad and no businessman will want to come and invest here.
