Kamaldeep Kaur said that it was the decision of Akal Takht sahibs Jathedar, Saints and Nihangs that one of the families of the Bandi Singhs should be given an opportunity to contest the elections so that the release of the Bandi Singhs can be discussed in the Parliament. Kamaldeep Kaur said that at first he was not ready to contest the elections, but later, according to Bhai Rajoana, he stood as a candidate from the Shiromani Akali Dal. When the journalist asked Kamaldeep Kaur about leaving her native house, she said that there are memories of Bhai Rajoana, Shaheed Bhai Rupinder Singh Goldi and their family in that house. Because of this, they will stay in that house only after the release of Bhai Rajoana. Because it is very difficult for them to live without Bhai Rajoana in that ruined house. Kamaldeep Kaur said that Bhai Rajoana has been in jail for 28 years and the government is still not deciding anything on his case. That’s why they want to give a message in the parliament by contesting elections that Bandi Singh should be released. Kamaldeep Kaur said that after the attack on the Darbar Sahib or after the martyrdom of the Sikhs, not a single murderer was punished but the punishment of the bandi Singhs was not being ended. Talking about Simranjit Singh Maan, Kamaldeep Kaur said that he never supported us and he never even went to meet Bhai Rajoana in Patiala Jail. Talking about the desecration of Guru Granth Sahib and Bargari shooting incident during Shiromani Akali Dal government, Kamaldeep Kaur said that what is wrong will remain wrong but our purpose of contesting elections is only to convey our message in the parliament that bandi singhs should be released now. She said that before the elections, Bhagwant Maan was promising to make efforts for the release of Bandi Singhs, now he is not making any efforts in this regard. Kamaldeep Kaur said that discrimination or oppression on Sikhs was done by Congress to gain power. Finally appealing for the release of Bandi Singhs, Kamaldeep Kaur said that history will never forgive those Sikhs who do not sympathize or do not make efforts for Bandi Singhs.
