This year, he has sown groundnut crop as the kharif crop. The reason for which is that last year the cotton crop was severely damaged due to the attack of the pink bollworm. He said that groundnut crop requires less water and groundnut seed has been brought from Rajasthan. Jagtar Singh explained when this crop is grown and how long it takes to produce which type of seed. Jagtar Singh has grown two types of seeds in his fields, one crop takes 90 days and the other type get ready in 120 days. Apart from this, he has also sown Kodo millet and finger millet in his fields. During the conversation, he said that there is no problem in marketing any crop, if there is an understanding of the method. Apart from this, he also spoke briefly about crop diseases and prevention. Jagtar Singh said that in the coming days, the rate of cotton crops will increase a lot and clothes will also be expensive. Jagtar Singh said that in earlier times the children of farmers used to work hard in the fields but nowadays the interest in working among the youth is decreasing and people are also forgetting the philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He also said that we all need to save air, water and earth. Finally talking about other states, Jagtar Singh said that we need to bring diversity in agriculture and people should cooperate instead of envying each other so that agriculture can progress.
