This interview with Balwant Singh Ramuwalia was published on 28 July 2022. At the beginning of the interview, when he was asked about the old or new political personalities responsible for the current state of Punjab, he said that such a state of Punjab is due to new politicians and the Badals have looted Punjab. He said that the old leaders were very honest and of good character, who saved Punjab by fighting against the tyranny of Nehru and Indira. Talking about the Badals, Ramuwalia said that they have destroyed Punjab like appointing their relatives to high posts, confusing the Chandigarh issue, confusing the Anandpur Sahib resolution, supporting anti-farming laws etc. During the conversation, he spoke candidly about the Badals leaving the party in 1985, conspiring against Ramuwalia from the Badals to defeat him and the story behind his retirement in 2012. Ramuwalia said he never joined Congress or BJP. Talking about the future of the Shiromani Akali Dal, Ramuwalia said that as long as the name of the Badals is associated with this party, the future of this party is absolutely trash. Ramuwalia said that he did not campaign in favor of anyone in the Sangrur by-elections but personally he was appealing to everyone to vote for Simranjit Singh Mann. Ramuwalia said that Bhagwant Maan has set an example in Punjab by getting married with simplicity which every Punjabi should follow. Apart from this, he said that Aam Aadmi Party should be given time to work but Bhagwant Mann should stop the fraud of travel agents in Punjab. On Raghav Chadha’s presence in Punjab, Ramuwalia said that there is nothing wrong with it if it does not harm Bhagwant Mann’s power. Ramuwalia said that they had got Waryam Singh released from jail while Badal and Captain Amarinder Singh could not get the Bandi Singhs released. Ramuwalia accused the Badals of desecrating the Guru Granth Sahib in Bargari.Finally, talking about IVF centers and drugs in Punjab, Ramuwalia said that the politics of the Badals is over and the present government should make IELTS free for students in 200 colleges of Punjab.
