This interview was published on June 2022 and the guest was Avtar Singh Phagwara who practices organic farming. At the beginning of the interview, Avtar Singh explained that if the farmers do not adopt the method of organic farming, then how the existence of life can be threatened in the future. Avtar Singh said that diseases are increasing in the society due to the pollution of food, air and water and organic farming method can be adopted to avoid all this. Avtar Singh said that plant life operates under the immutable laws of nature and judicious management of these laws can produce better yields and poison-free crops. He said that to overcome the economic, food and environmental crisis, he has prepared a project called “sampooran kheti, Pooran rojgaar”. Avtar Singh said that the government is not giving much support to organic farming farmers but giving incentives for direct sowing of paddy is a commendable step. Apart from this, he said that according to the instructions of the Jathedar of the Akal takht sahib and farmers’ organizations programs are being drawn up to make the farmers aware. Avtar Singh said that we do not need to save water but to avoid water. Plants need more air than water to grow. Finally, he shared information about his farming model with the audience.
