This interview was published on 31 August 2022 with Amritpal Singh, head of the organization “Waris Punjab De”. At the beginning of the interview, he was asked about the organization, how people will be made aware of the pain of Sikhs, then Amritpal said that the religious politics is rooted in the Gurdwaras, so they will go to the villages and encourage the youth to join the organization, quit drugs, about political demands and they will be motivated to adopt a Sikh identity. He said that a large number of youths are associated with the “Waris Punjab de” organization and the enthusiasm of the youth is much more than we think. He said that there is no internal dispute in the organization, but talking about the dispute after becoming the head, Amritpal said that such hesitation is a sign of slavery because slave men do not like change; Especially the youth coming forward. Amritpal also shared his views on the demand for a sovereign state. He said that if India is a democratic country then no one can stop us from speaking our words. At the same time, Amritpal spoke openly about how the Sikhs will be made aware for a sovereign state or how the youth are kept away from Gurdwaras, religious politics and religious institutions so that they are not conscious. Talking about SGPC, he said that SGPC is not completely independent and most of the decisions are taken under the influence of the state. Amritpal also shared his views on the current state of the Akali Dal and the struggle of Simranjit Singh Mann and their political structure. Amritpal explained how the commercialization of media is happening and how the pain and psychology of Punjab can be brought to people through films in the coming time. Many other issues like Deravadism, gang culture, comrades and Aam Aadmi Party were also discussed with him. Finally, he also gave his opinion about the murder of Sidhu Moosewala.
