This interview with Punjabi singer Kanwar Grewal was published on 15 July 2022. In this interview, he talked about Punjab, music and his ideology. Looking at the situation in Punjab after the farmer’s protest, Kanwar Grewal said that the social and political system of Punjab is not as good or transparent as it should be. So no one can be blamed but all are equally responsible. He said that both the government and citizens have equal responsibility. Kanwar Grewal said that undoubtedly previous governments did not work appropriately. He said that we should do something for the society without looking at our selfishness and along with Sufi singing, he will continue to try to present the problems and goodness of Punjab in his songs. While sharing the experience of farmer’s protest, he said that during that time he got the opportunity to meet many personalities and learned many new ideologies. Due to which his art became more refined. He said that whenever there is any trouble in Punjab, he will always be present for Punjab. Talking about the receiving calls of threats and extortion in the Punjabi film industry, Kanwar Grewal said that every human being has an aura created by him. The things they focus on, the things that happen in their lives. He said that according to Gurbani, the day of death of everyone is fixed. Apart from this, Kanwar Grewal said that now he wants to reduce work a little and spend more time at home with simplicity. Kanwar Grewal said that he has no grudge against the government over the ban of his song “rihaayi”. Finally, Kanwar Grewal while singing his rihaayi song he said that we all should discuss issues of bandi singhs or panth with unity, peace and seriousness.
